of Protest
"The Art of Protest" plays a crucial role in our projects, serving to raise awareness, question societal norms, shock, and advocate for change on political and social issues. Using diverse forms of creative expression, including visual arts, music, street art, and performance, to convey messages that challenge existing power structures and foster social and political activism. The overarching goal is to utilize art as a powerful tool to make impactful statements, provoke thought, and inspire action. Our focus extends to addressing pressing concerns and contributing significantly to the broader discourse on issues spanning human rights, equality, justice and political upheavals.
Street Art
Over several years, we've endeavored to harness the power of art and journalism to convey impactful messages through street art. Our courageous street artists have tackled diverse and pressing topics, ranging from selective abortions and domestic violence to environmental concerns and political activism. Through this dynamic fusion of artistic expression and journalism, we aim to engage the public, spark conversations, and bring attention to critical issues that warrant thoughtful consideration and action.
Rock Concert
Opposing the current authorities and decrying election malpractices on the eve of the 2017 NA Armenia parliamentary elections, we organized an unprecedented traveling rock concert across 5 regions, with a 13-meter truck transforming into a stage. More than just a musical event, it was a protest and an act of defiance under police surveillance. Our goal was to empower people to believe in their strength and assert their voices. The impactful "Take a Step" rock concert in 2017 preceded the 2018 Velvet Revolution in Armenia, marked by the adoption of the same logo and slogan.
Take a Bribe
During the pre-election period when the prevailing message was to resist taking bribes for votes, we opted for an unexpected approach – the "Art of Protest." In a unique and provocative initiative called "Take a Bribe," we distributed symbolic "bribes" to people in the heart of Yerevan. This creative and startling method aimed to convey a powerful message about the significance of refusing bribes, utilizing art to engage the public in a thought-provoking manner.
